Al-Enezi named JUA's chief for 2015-19.
KUWAIT, May 11 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Obaid Al-Enezi was re-elected on Monday by acclamation president of the Judo Union of Asia (JUA) for the third time for 2015-2019 during the meeting of the union's general assembly. The president of the International Judo Federation (IJF) Marius Vizer and representatives of 35 countries attended the meeting to elect the president and board of directors. Indian's Kumar Mukesh was elected by acclamation the union's secretary and UAE's Amal-Bu-Shalakh was picked up as its treasurer. The heads and deputies of committees, and other posts were named in the meeting. Commenting on the re-election, Al-Enezi expressed his gratitude to the Asian Continent for granting him this confidence for the third time in a row, stressing that this trust prompts him to double efforts so as to upgrade the game. "This confidence is a source of pride for me, sports and State of Kuwait," he told reporters, dedicating this achievement to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the government and people. He welcomed the delegations that participated in the meeting held ahead of an Asian Championship for men and women due on Wednesday at Fajhan Helal Al-Mutairi hall in Qadsia Sporting Club. Al-Enezi lauded the role of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) chief Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah in his unlimited support for sports and sportspeople and for his effective contributions to serving sports at local, international and regional forums.
