Al Shidhani brings ocean basket to oman.

Al Shidhani International signed an agreement with Ocean Basket of South Africa to open the latter's first restaurant in Oman. The MoU was signed by Saud Hilal AlShidhani, CEO of Al Shidhani Al Shidhani the exclusive rights, through a master license agreement, to establish, manage and grow the Ocean Basket brand in Oman. "We're very pleased with our new partners, and their ability to represent Ocean Basket," says De Sambento. The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries. According to Kobus Meyburgh, head of international business at Ocean Basket, "Ocean Basket has nearly 200 stores in 18 territories, serves over 1.7 million customers annually through its international operations alone. We value the Middle East market, and from our existing experience we know our offering suits the region's palette as the menu is Halaal friendly- and continues to attract new customers".

Says Saud Al Shidhani, "Oman also offers a variety of ancillary benefits that the Ocean Basket Group is looking to explore. Included in this is the potential of investing in a regional product distribution hub, a regional office to service the entire Middle East region, and product procurement options".

As part of its corporate strategy and on-going progress, Al Shidhani International strives and plans to bring new and unique tastes to the country into the fine dining experience. The company has already launched premium self-serve frozen yogurt brand Cherry & Berry Frozen Yogurt.

Nbo selects first recipient of National Day scholarship

National Bank of Oman (NBO) to the supporting the local community, has selected the first recipient NBO announced earlier this year of its scholarship programme that it will award 15 scholarships for in celebration of the 45th underprivileged students to study National Day. Following an extensive at some of the best universities in screening exercise, Hakima Al Hosni, a student from Al Batinah region, will be enrolled in an intensive English, social studies and business undergraduate foundation programme at Bellerbys College in Brighton, UK, before she joins one of the top universities in the UK to complete her undergraduate degree. Upon graduation, Hakima will also sign an employment contract with the bank to begin a career in the financial services industry. Ahmed Al Musalmi, CEO of NBO said, "We congratulate Hakima on being chosen as the first recipient of our special scholarship programme to mark the 45th National Day. She will now embark on an intensive programme at one of the UK's leading language programmes, where she will develop the skills needed to enroll in a prestigious undergraduate business programme to thrive in the finance industry. " In celebration of the 45th National Day, and in line with its commitment the UK. Additionally, it will create 25 new graduate employment roles within various divisions of the bank and give five existing employees the opportunity to study for an MBA at a top international business school. NBO is inviting high school graduates from underprivileged families across the Sultanate, with a minimum scholastic achievement of 85 per cent, who are unemployed and looking for a long-term career with NBO, to apply for the remaining 14 university scholarships by sending an email with their documentations to watani@nbo.co.om.
