The development itself spans 120,000 square metres and features a mix of residential, social, hospitality and cultural amenities that include luxury residences, retail and food outlets, leisure and sports facilities and a 20,000 square metre, themed hotel and banquet hall.

"With sustainability as a central-focus, we put a lot of passion, innovation and attention to detail into the Al Nasseem project, so we are very proud to receive the Cityscape Award. We are looking forward to seeing the development, which blends modernity with traditional Arabic motifs, become part of the thriving community of Al Ain", said Mahmood Ebraheem Al Mahmood, Chairman of AQRE.

Al Nasseem has been approved by the Urban Planning Council (UPC) of Abu Dhabi and will launch in early 2011. It also received the UPC's 'Estidama Excellence Award' for participating in the 2009 Pilot Projects Pearls Rating System. Estidama, which means 'sustainability' in Arabic, was established as a specialised government body at the UPC with a specific mandate to ensure the proper development and implementation of more sustainable development in Abu Dhabi. 2010 Al Bawaba (www.albawaba.com)
