Al Harub Medical Center appoints new clinical psychologist.

Al Harub Medical Center (AHMC), a leading healthcare facility in Oman in psychological and preventive health services, has announced the appointment of Dr Fabian Saarloos as a clinical psychologist, a press release said.

Dr Fabian is a Dutch national who grew up in the GCC and completed his training in clinical and intercultural psychology at Utrecht University, the Netherlands, and the University of Damascus in Syria. He also has several years' postdoctoral training as a clinical and healthcare psychologist in the Netherlands.

Since 2006, Dr Fabian has been working as a psychologist at one of the Netherlands' leading mental health institutions (Riagg), as well as head of the psychotherapy department at Sarya Foundation which focuses on migrant mental health. Besides lecturing, Dr Fabian has been training and supervising psychology students and participating in various research projects and publicati-ons of academic studies on psycho-diagnostic assessment as well as transcultural mental healthcare. He is a member of the Dutch Institute for Psychologists, the European Association for Psychologists (Europsy) as well as the international Society of the Rorschach and Projective Methods.

As clinical and healthcare psychologist, Dr Fabian is specialised in psychological and diagnostic assessments like personality, neuropsychological as well as intelligence testing, and other psychotherapeutic variants such as psychodynamic and cognitive behaviour therapy. In addition,

Dr Fabian has been a practising counsellor and psychotherapist, offering his services to a variety of patients suffering from depression, anxiety and behavioural problems as well as personality disorders.

Al Harub Medical Center welcomed Dr Fabian as a great resource who, in addition to all his other competencies, is fluent in four languages -- Arabic, Dutch, English and German -- and with a genuinely multicultural background.
