Al: New boss must start from scratch.

FORMER Celtic star Alan Stubbs last night insisted the next Parkhead manager must be allowed to totally overhaul the team.

Stubbs played under Tommy Burns, Wim Jansen and Martin O'Neill during his time in Glasgow and saw how each put their own stamp on the club.

He reckons whoever replaces Tony Mowbray in the long term must have the chance to do the same.

The Everton coach said: "I think they have to go for think they have to go for someone who can drag the club by the scruff of the neck. They need a completely fresh start and hopefully the board will give the next manager the backing to do it."

"You see the crowds just now and that has to be very disappointing. They can't go on like that.

"Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they have the players at the moment who can do the Celtic jersey justice.

"But hopefully the board will get it right and get the right man in."
