Akzo and DSM.

The Netherlands-based chemical companies Akzo and DSM have reached an agreement, outlining the exchange of some of their activities. The plan provides for the exchange of Akzo's engineering plastics units to DSM and DSM's powder coatings activities to Akzo, effective January 1, 1992. Akzo's range of engineering plastics consists chiefly of polyamides and polyesters, and compounds based on these products. Color concentrates and polyester granules for packaging materials are not included. The Powder Coatings Business Unit of DSM Resins will transfer to Akzo and become part of its Coatings Division, but will not include powder coatings resins. These will remain with DSM.
