NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-10 May 2005-Aker Yards ASA secures NOK800m shipbuilding contract from Island Offshore(C)1994-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

The Norwegian shipbuilder Aker Yards ASA announced on Tuesday (10 May) that it had received an NOK800m contract to build two new anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels for Island Offshore.

The vessels will be of the type UT 787, and will be built by Aker Yards' subsidiary Aker Brattvaag AS.

The contract includes a cancellation clause for the second vessel.

One Norwegian krone (NOK) is worth approximately 0.08 British pounds (GBP).
