Ajman and Umm Al Qaiwain Rulers order release of prisoners.

HH Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has ordered the release of 119 prisoners on good behaviour.

Sheikh Humaid said he hoped that the inmates would be given the opportunity to join their families and live as productive members of society.

The Commander in-Chief of Ajman Police, Brigadier Ali Abdullah Alwan, thanked Sheikh Humaid for the gesture, saying the pardons reflect his deep appreciation of the importance of human freedom as well as of leaving doors open for inmates to learn lessons from their experience.

Meanwhile, HH Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla,Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, has also ordered the release of a number of prisoners from the punitive and reformative institutions in the emirate on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.

The inmates, who have been convicted and are facing deportation as per orders of the courts, will be sent back to their home countries.

The move comes in line with Umm al-Qaiwain Ruler's keenness to give them a chance to begin a new life and ease the suffering of their families.
