Airwide Solutions introduces AirGuard AntiSpam for SMS networks.
The AirGuard AntiSpam solution with anti-threat capabilities has been introduced by Airwide Solutions, a provider of mobile messaging infrastructure and applications, to deal with increasing mobile messaging threats.
Airwide Solutions said its AirGuard AntiSpam provides a single solution, enabling operators to protect SMS messaging networks and subscribers from threats such as spam, fraud and other malware which infect SMS messages.
The solution analyses and monitors all messaging traffic in the network, protecting against attacks which originate from within or outside of the operator's own home network. It offers validation to protect against spoofing, anti-flooding to protect from floods of messages and message filtering to detect and remove spam, scam and OTA messages and help prevent the download of viruses.
According to Airwide Solutions, AirGuard AntiSpam protects the operator's brand, reduces operator and subscriber costs and can increase SMS revenues. It said the solution combines spam filtering with anti-fraud techniques, stops premium-priced messages being delivered directly to the subscriber and is reportedly the first solution to introduce virus protection to SMS networks.
