Dubai International Airport handled a record 18.46million passengers in the first half of 2008, registering a growth of 13.80 per cent over the first half of last year. The airport handled an average of three million passengers per month throughout the first half the year, making it the busiest period in the airport's history. This record growth means that, as in previous years, the airport will exceed the projected annual figure this year aswell.Aa Some 40 million passengers are expected to use the airport in 2008.Dubai International was the world's fastest growing airport last year in terms of international passenger throughput, with a growth of 19.31 perAa cent or 34.34 million passengers. During the period under review, March was the busiest month for the airport with 3.25 million passengers, while February recorded the highest growth rate at 18.80 per cent.
