Aeroports de Paris

Aeroports de Paris (ADP) plans to increase main airport fees at Charles de Gaulle and Orly by 3.8% in 2008, down from the 4.25% hike it applied this year. The proposal represents a preliminary estimate of the average increase in passenger fees, landing fees, aircraft parking fees and fees for the use of fueling facilities, ADP noted. It added that the 3.8% figure takes into account "buoyant" passenger traffic growth in 2007 as required by a "ceiling adjustment mechanism" included in its contract with the French government as part of its privatization. Passenger throughput rose 4.8% through October, whereas ADP's 2006-10 contract with the government is based on annual traffic growth of 3.75 %. The final fee proposal will be submitted to the airport Economic Advisory Committee in January. The increase will take effect on April 1. Dec 3, 2007

The City of Berlin withdrew Tempelhof's operating license to prepare for next fall's closure. THF, which counts Brussels Airlines and Cirrus Airlines as two of the few scheduled carriers still flying there, is famous as the site of the Berlin Airlift in 1948-49. Dec 6, 2007

"We assume that the Hesse state government will make a decision on the expansion of the airport this year as planned," he said on the sidelines of an aviation conference on Tuesday. "And we are confident that it will be approved." Schulte added that he expected there to be conditions for the expansion, but said these would not endanger the construction of a fourth runway, expected to enter operation in 2011 at the latest.
