Airline opens up six new destinations.

MIDLANDS airline Maersk Air has announced a major expansion of the route network it operates for British Airways from Birmingham Airport.

The number of destinations from Birmingham is to increase from 10 to 16.

These new routes will be phased in and will include new services to Nice, Bordeaux and Toulouse, starting from the first weekend in May, and the introduction of flights to Athens, Geneva and Venice a month later.

Managing director Peter Spencer said: "This opens up six new key destinations from the West Midlands for both business and leisure travellers. It offers Maersk and the West Midlands region some very important opportunities."
