Air Niugini

Papua New Guinea has not been all that accessible from the UK and Europe in the past but this is expected to be improved with the introduction of a weekly Air Niugini service from Port Moresby to Hong Kong via Manila. Air Niugini also serves Singapore (twice weekly) and Tokyo (weekly) plus regular flights to Brisbane. Air Niugini operates a major domestic network to townships and villages more or less cut off by road. It has a single Boeing 767 for long haul operations and is served by Fokker F100/F28 and Bombardier Dash 8 on its regional services. Jul 29, 2006

Jet Airways

Amritstar is to get nonstop flights from the UK starting August 4. Jet Airways will introduce a three times per week service from Heathrow to the major commercial, cultural and transportation hub which is also the home of the Golden Temple. An airline known for its quality product Jet Airways has recently introduced a second daily flight to Mumbai and also serves Delhi. All ex-UK flights are flown by Airbus A340 aircraft. Jul 29, 2006

Kingfisher Airlines

Kingfisher Airlines started daily Ahmedabad-Mumbai, Hyderabad-Chennai, Hyderabad-Vishakhapatnam, Chennai-Vishakhapatnam and Chennai-Kochi flights aboard ATR 72s. It now operates 86 daily flights to 17 destinations. Jul 25, 2006

Thai Airways, Shanghai Airlines

Thai and Shanghai Airlines signed an MOU for increased commercial cooperation. The carriers currently codeshare on routes between China and Thailand. Jul 26, 2006

Tiger Airways

Tiger Airways upped service from Singapore to China and Thailand for the summer season ending Oct. 28, increasing Haikou flights to daily from four-times-weekly, Guangzhou service to five-times-weekly from three and Phuket service from daily to nine-times-weekly. Jul 25, 2006
