Latin America yield climbed 8.1% to 13.07 cents, the best annual improvement so far this year, while Pacific yield rose 11.8% to 12.30 cents, also the highest monthly increase recorded in 2006. Transatlantic markets are underperforming the overall market, however; Atlantic yield grew just 3.8% to 11.82 cents, although this was up from the 3.3% hike in July. Sep 22, 2006
Oil's decline sends airline shares higher. A large drop in the price of oil has sent shares of airlines higher in the past six weeks. The Amex airline index is up 16% since August. The cost of a barrel of crude closed at $60.46 on Wednesday, down from $77 in August. Prices rebounded slightly Thursday in Asian trading. Sep 21, 2006
