Aeroflot yesterday said it posted a RUB7.9 billion ($306.3 million) profit in 2006, which would mark a 31% increase over 2005 earnings of RUB6.03 billion and was the company's second revision of its full-year performance. In late February it said it earned RUB6.98 billion and it claimed a RUB7.3 billion profit in an April 10 statement. Yesterday's figure accompanied a release in which the carrier announced that e-tickets on SU flights became available Tuesday on Sabre, Amadeus, Galileo and Apollo in "almost 50" countries. Its e-tickets are available through interline agreements with SkyTeam partners Aeromexico, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, KLM, Korean Air and Northwest Airlines. It said "broad sale" of e-tickets in Russia will start in June. Apr 19, 2007

Air One, Alitalia

Air One reported its financial results on its website in Italian. Passenger numbers rose 11.1% to 6.3 million and its share of the Italian market climbed 6 points to 33%. Its parent company, AP Holding, is among the three shortlisted bidders for Alitalia. Today is the government's deadline for those parties to submit nonbinding offers and a business plan. HRG Bucks TMC Trend Of Passing British Airways GDS Fees To U.K. Buyers. Many travel management companies, including American Express and Carlson Wagonlit Travel, are passing through to corporate clients the opt-in charges imposed on them by global distribution systems for booking British Airways tickets in the U.K. and Ireland. CSA Czech Airlines

CSA Czech Airlines carried 1.1 million passengers in the first three months of 2007, up 5.2% from the year-ago quarter. More than 90% of those passengers flew CSA's scheduled services with the most popular destinations being Paris Charles de Gaulle, Moscow Sheremetyevo, Amsterdam, Madrid and Dublin. It took delivery of eight A320 family aircraft during the quarter, a ninth last week and will take its final new aircraft of 2007, an A319, this week. Apr 19, 2007

Iberia

Iberia has yet to open its books to Texas Pacific Group and wants more information on the US firm's partners in its [euro]3.4 billion ($4.58 billion) bid for the airline, specifically if there are any Spanish companies or airlines involved, an IB spokesperson said last Thursday, according to Reuters . A non-EU interest currently cannot acquire more than 49% of an EU airline. Apr 16, 2007

Lufthansa To Keep 'Cool Head' On Purchases. Lufthansa Chief Executive Wolfgang Mayrhuber said the carrier was ready to make acquisitions but added on Wednesday he would keep a "cool head" and that purchases must make sense for both sides. Apr 18, 2007

Lufthansa CEO Sees Little Chance For Takeover Lufthansa does not plan to team up with a partner to buy Iberia and sees the Spanish airline's share price as excessive, its Chief Executive Wolfgang Mayrhuber said on Monday. Apr 16, 2007

Spanair flew 694 million RPKs in March, a 17.3% increase over the year-ago month. Capacity climbed 9.5% to 1.04 billion ASKs, lifting load factor 4.5 points to 66.6%. Apr 19, 2007

VLM Airlines

VLM Airlines reported a full-year profit of [euro]3.2 million, a 143% increase over its 2005 earnings and its ninth consecutive year in the black. Revenue rose 12.5% to [euro]99.6 million and operating costs climbed 10.9% to [euro]95.3 million. VLM said it was able to offset rising fuel expenses with "a number of initiatives" including foreign currency hedging. Passenger numbers were up 9% to 681,751 and are forecast to grow to 900,000 this year. It is adding a 92-seat BAe 146-300--its first jet--to its London City-Rotterdam service to handle the growth, and plans to add its 20th and 21st F50s this year. It also cited a cabin revamp featuring new seats and its new loyalty program, launched last year, for its success. Apr 18, 2007
