Aerolineas Argentinas, ILFC, Boeing Aerolineas Argentinas has agreed to lease 10 ex-Virgin Blue 737-700s from ILFC and is planning to place an order with Boeing for 14 additional 737-700/800s. The flag carrier announced on 19 November a lease deal with ILFC for 10 737-700s for delivery in 2011 and 2012. Speaking to ATI and Flightglobal at the ALTA 2010 Leadership Forum in Panama, Aerolineas chief commercial officer Juan Pablo Lafosse says the 10 737-700s are coming off lease from Australia's Virgin Blue and five will be delivered to Aerolineas next year with the remaining five to be delivered in 2012. According to Flightglobal's ACAS database, Virgin Blue currently leases 10 737-700s from ILFC which were manufactured in 2001 and 2002. Virgin Blue is intending to replace these aircraft with new 737-800s from its large outstanding 737 order. Aerolineas currently operates 12 737-700s, which it took in 2009. Lafosse says the carrier aims to continue growing its 737-700 fleet after the last of the ILFC aircraft are delivered and is planning to place an order for 14 new 737-700/800s for delivery in 2013 and 2014. Austral Lineas Aereas, Embraer Austral Lineas Aereas took delivery of the fourth and fifth Embraer 190s out of 20 it has on order. The aircraft are configured in a two-class, 96-seat layout. Boeing, Embraer Boeing proposes teaming up with Embraer in Brazilian contract bid. Boeing has proposed 10 partnership projects with Brazil's Embraer in a strategy to boost its bid for a multi-billion-dollar contract to produce a fighter plane for Brazil. Embraer Embraer has handed over the first India-based Phenom 100 to Invision Air Services. The delivery marks the first of 18 entry-level Phenom 100s for the Mumbai-based branded charter start-up, which also has two Phenom 300 light jets on order. Vinit Phatak, Invision Air managing director, says: "The coming of this jet to India truly marks a milestone for the local general aviation industry. Indian customers will, for the first time, have access to a safe twinjet experience at a price point between two-and-a-half to three-times full-fare business class rates for up to 200 destinations across the country." Embraer Embraer handed over the first Legacy 650 business jet on 22 November to UK entrepreneur and television personality Alan Sugar. The large-cabin aircraft - G-SUGA - will be based at London Stansted airport, where it will be managed by Titan Airways' new business aviation offshoot Titan Airways Executive, which will also market the Legacy 650 for third-party charter use. The 13-seat Legacy 650 was launched a year ago as a long-range version of the Legacy 600 and as a rival to other large-cabin entrants, including the Bombardier Challenger 605, Dassault Falcon 2000LX, Gulfstream G350 and G450. The aircraft has a range of 3,900nm (7,225km) with four passengers and a Honeywell Primus Elite flightdeck. Nov 23, 2010
ILFC, Aerolineas Argentinas, Boeing ILFC reached an agreement with Aerolineas Argentinas to provide 10 Boeing 737-700s to the carrier, with deliveries to occur between 2011 and 2012. The aircraft will accommodate growth and replace older 737-500s in the carrier's fleet. Nov 23, 2010
LAN Cargo, Boeing Citing an increase in cargo market demand, LAN Cargo plans to add three Boeing 767-300Fs and a new 777F to its fleet. The company has taken delivery of one leased 767, followed by the second this month. LAN Cargo expects to accept delivery of the third leased 767 in January. LAN Cargo has also exercised a 777F option, and plans to take delivery of the new aircraft during the fourth quarter of 2012. Volaris, Airbus Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris is planning to further expand its Mexico City operation as it takes delivery of six additional Airbus A319s over the next few months. Volaris chief commercial officer Holger Blankenstein says the carrier is taking an additional A319 this month and two more A319s next month, giving it a fleet of 24 A319s and two A320s. Nov 24, 2010
