Airbus announces further orders at Farnborough International Airshow.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

On the fourth day of the UK's Farnborough International Airshow aircraft manufacturer Airbus announced orders for 29 aircraft.

Airbus said that it has signed an order with Hungarian-based economy carrier Wizz Air for 20 A320s in a deal valued at approximately USD1.4bn at list prices.

In addition Airbus also revealed that leasing company CIT is purchasing five A330-200 and four A320 aircraft, although financial details of this deal were not disclosed, The Associated Press reported.

Total orders or commitments for Airbus at the show are now at 114 aircraft, valued at approximately USD8.8bn at list prices.

The total orders and commitments for Boeing amount to 76 aircraft, including more larger models sold compared to Airbus, and these are valued at more than USD10bn at list prices.
