AirTran to launch service to Phoenix after customer survey.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings Inc (NYSE: AAI), will expand its route map to add Phoenix, Arizona as its next destination.

AirTran will launch new direct service between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on 15 February 2007. The route will be served by Boeing 737-700 aircraft.

The carrier said that the new service to Phoenix is a result of AirTran Airways' recent online survey asking consumers where they wanted the airline's next new route to service.

AirTran Airways reportedly dedicated a portion of its website to the survey where consumers could log on and vote for the airline's next destination.
