AirTran takes delivery of 100th aircraft for its fleet.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings Inc (NYSE: AAI), has celebrated the addition of the company's 100th aircraft into its fleet.

According to AirTran the aircraft is a Boeing 717, ship number 749 and registration number N923AT, and was welcomed during a delivery ceremony at the airline's maintenance hangar at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

AirTran Airways said that it operates the youngest all-Boeing fleet in the United States and is reportedly the fastest airline in history to reach a fleet of 100 aircraft.
