Air Vice Marshal Bharti takes over as SAASO Maintenance Command.

New Delhi, Apr. 11 ( ANI ): Air Vice Marshal VS Bharti has taken over as Senior Air and Administrative Staff Officer (SSO), Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force.

He has taken over the charge from AVM JS Kler who has proceeded to head the Air Wing of Border Security Force.

A highly experienced officer, Air Vice Marshal Bharti was commissioned into helicopter stream of Indian Air Force on December 11, 1981. He did his schooling in Mumbai and joined National Defence Academy (NDA) in 1978. He is a Qualified Flying Instructor and has flown nearly all types of helicopters and trainer aircraft. He has logged more than 5400 hours in every conceivable role. He was actively involved in IPKF Operations at Sri Lanka, for which he was awarded Yudha Seva Medal.

Prior to his posting as SSO Maintenance Command, IAF, Air Vice Marshal Bharti has served as Air Attache at KYIV Ukraine, Director IDC at Air Headquaters, SASO at Air Officer Commanding J and K, Air Officer Commanding Air Force Station Yelahanka and Deputy Commandant Air Force Academy.

The Air Officer has commanded No. 105 Helicopter Unit and No. 19 Forward and Base Support Unit. He is an alumni of National Defence Academy and Defence Service Staff College (DSSC).

He has also undergone Naval Higher Command Course at Mumbai. For his exceptional dedication to duty and selfless service, he was awarded Vayu Sena Medal and Vishist Seva Medal. ( ANI )
