Canada asks airlines for opinions on open skies. The Canadian government has asked its air transport industry to evaluate plans to liberalize international agreements on air travel. Canada hopes to start talks with other countries that would allow airlines to fly in and out of the country as often as they want. Oct 26, 2006

FAA rehires hundreds of controllers fired by Reagan. The FAA has hired back hundreds of air traffic controllers who were fired by President Ronald Reagan more than 25 years ago. Nearly all of the controllers will have to requalify to begin work because they have not directed air traffic since 1981. Oct 24, 2006
