BNSF BNSF helped complete $16.1M grade separation project in Ill.. BNSF supported the $16.1 million Illinois Jobs Now! grade separation project in Galesburg, Ill., which was recently completed. The Class I contributed more than $800,000 to the project, which created or supported almost 140 jobs. BNSF Class I's step up to handle North American oil shipments. There aren't enough pipelines to transport crude oil products from oil shale areas, but BNSF, Canadian National and Canadian Pacific have proven to be viable transport alternatives across North America, writes Andrew Holland. UPS UPS Pledges $1.5 Million in Aid to Storm Recovery Efforts. UPS (UPS) announced it has pledged $1.5 million in cash and in-kind support to aid in the recovery efforts following the devastation caused by Superstorm Sandy that struck the northeast corridor of the U.S. earlier this week. United Parcel Service Inc (UPS) expects shipments during the upcoming holiday season to hit record levels this year, up 10 percent from last year, and plans to hire 55,000 seasonal workers to handle the added volume.
