Air Astana to freeze flights to Urumqi and Beijing in February.

The Air Astana decided to cancel 9 flights from northern and southern capitals of Kazakhstan to China due to the coronavirus outbreak, Sputnik Kazak reports with reference to the department on corporate communications of the airline.

"In connection with the coronavirus outbreak in China, the Air Astana will reduce flights from Nur-Sultan and Almaty to Beijing on February 19-26," the airline said.

Today, the Air Astana is performing three flights a week from Nur-Sultan to Urumqi and Beijing. Four planes operate flights from Almaty to Urumqi and 5 from Almaty to Beijing.

A Scat airline earlier notified about termination of flights on the route Almaty - Haikou and Nur-Sultan - Sanya.

The Kazakhstani tourist agencies also confirmed the information about cancellation of flights from Almaty and Nur-Sultan to Hainan.
