Agony of pit bull victim.

A man was recovering in hospital yesterday after his genitals were bitten off by a friend's American pit bull terrier cross.

The victim, a 26-year-old man who has not been named, was taken to hospital shortly after 7am on Wednesday after suffering the horrific injuries in Parkfield, Wolverhampton.

Details were released by police only yesterday .

Police said: 'One man was taken to hospital and another was arrested, however, it soon transpired the injuries had been caused accidentally. 'The arrested man was released without charge and there has been no further police involvement.'

It is believed that the injured man has undergone a series of operations at Wolverhampton's New Cross Hospital.

It is understood the dog is to be destroyed.
