A FORMER director of nursing and midwifery, chief operating officer for eight years and current primary strategic liaison at Waikato District Health Board (DHB), Jan Adams, will take up a nursing role at the country's largest aged-care provider, BUPA, in March 2015. Her new role is that of director of nursing, quality and risk. Announcing the appointment, BUPA managing director Grainne Moss said maintaining high quality service and demonstrating clinical leadership "whilst we grow is critical for BUPA. We are thrilled to have such a highly experienced and widely respected nursing leader join BUPA to help us do this".

DHB chief executive Nigel Murray acknowledged Adams' "huge service" to the DHB. She has been at the DHB since 1996.
