Age of menarche and age of sexual activity.

The Question: Does early age of menarche (first menstrual cycle) increase the chances of early first sexual intercourse?

The Study: The age of menarche was collected for 554 girls in Western Australia as was the age of first sexual intercourse.

The Results: The age of menarche wasn't related to the age of first sexual intercourse. The girls with an early menarche waited longer to have intercourse than the girls with a later menarche.

Comment: In Western Australia age of menarche doesn't appear to be related to age of sexual activity. Whether this is true for girls in other countries isn't known.
