AeroScout Japan Selected by NEC System Integration & Construction (NESIC) for Wi-Fi-based Active RFID Location Solution; AeroScout Japan Extends Leadership in Real-Time Location Market Through Collaboration With NESIC and Oracle Japan.

SAN MATEO, Calif., April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- AeroScout, Inc., a pioneer in the field of Enterprise Visibility Solutions, toady announced that AeroScout Japan has been selected by NEC System Integration & Construction (NESIC), a subsidiary of NEC, to provide Wi-Fi-based Active RFID systems to the Japanese market. NESIC is targeting 5 billion yen ($46.6 million dollars) in sales of AeroScout products by 2008. This partnership continues AeroScout Japan's tremendous growth and leadership in the Japanese market, also highlighted by recent collaboration with Oracle Japan and Cisco Systems.

The agreement between AeroScout Japan and NESIC entitles NESIC to distribute the AeroScout Visibility System, the company's award-winning wireless LAN-based real-time location system. NESIC will develop and offer solutions based on the AeroScout system, and will support the system with customer evaluation and analysis, installation, application development and maintenance. Customers can use the system to wirelessly locate valuable assets and people, both indoors and outdoors, in environments such as shipping yards, hospitals and manufacturing facilities.

NESIC has high expectations for sales of AeroScout products, with a target of 5 billion yen ($46.6 million dollars) in sales by 2008. The entire Japanese market for indoor location systems is forecast to grow to 38 Billion yen ($354 million dollars) in 2008, according to research firm ESP Research Institute.

In addition, Oracle Japan recently announced that it is offering a location tracking system, as part of the Oracle Database 10g and Oracle Application Server 10g product lines, which integrates the AeroScout Wi-Fi location capability. AeroScout Japan recently appeared alongside Oracle and Cisco Systems at Japan's RetailTech trade show, where the three companies demonstrated a joint solution for inventory tracking.
