Advanced Refractory Technologies.

Advanced Refractory Technologies was recently awarded funding from the U.S. Marine Corps (Naval Surface Warfare Center) to study "Atomic-scale composite protective coatings for exterior surfaces or weapon components." This funding is made possible via the Small Business Innovarive Research Program which requires that a certain portion of government funds be utilized to support research and development within small business in the United States. The award given to ART amounts to just over $50,000 for a six month technical feasibility demonstration effort. If successfuk the results of this research will be applicable to many existing commercial applications, such as high temperature corrosion protection in the chemical processing industry.
