Adrienne R. Takacs, Ph.D. joined Lilly Research Laboratories in 2000 as Senior Director of Drug Disposition with a primary focus on ADME, metabolism and bioanalytical capabilities in support of the development and discovery of LRUs molecule portfolio.
She began her post-doctoral career in pharmaceutical research as a Senior Scientist at Hoffman-LaRoche, Inc. in 1986. She continued her pharmaceutical research career at Ciba-Geigy, where she initiated and led the paradigm of early discovery intervention by ADME. She spent nine years, from 1991 until 2000, at R.W. Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute, progressing to increasing levels of responsibility in scientific management. She directed the Drug Disposition component, including ADME and PK/PD, in support of discovery and development of small and large NMEs.
Dr. Takacs received her B.S. degree in Biology from Ithaca College in 1977. Following both academic and pharmaceutical research positions, she obtained her Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Kentucky in 1985. Her research focused on hepatic transport mechanisms of organic anions. Dr. Takacs is a Six Sigma Green Belt and has led a number of initiatives to improve R&D productivity.
