Scholarship Committee Report to Georgia Nurses Association and Georgia Nurses Foundation

Mayanne Rowan and Betty Daniels met August 28, 2006, at Georgia Nurses Association Headquarters to review scholarship applications. Eleven applications were received. Four applicants met the qualifications. The scholarships were awarded as follows:

Michelle D. Manoguerra, 2nd year student at medical College of Georgia, Athens, was selected for the Katherine Pope Scholarship.

Bridgett S. Stroud, graduate student in Leadership in Health Care at Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, Emory University, was selected for the Annie Lou Overton Scholarship.

Awards Committee Report to Georgia Nurses Association 2007

Awards Committee Members:

Sheila Warren, Ruthie Pumphrey, Cindy Balkstra, Betty Daniels

The Awards Committee met on Friday, June 27, 2007, at GNA Headquarters. Five applications for Staff Nurse Award were reviewed. The Committee recommended Tesla Graham, Staff Nurse at Atlanta VA Medical Center.

All the applicants were excellent candidates but the committee felt that Ms. Graham met all the requirements especially her promotion of professionalism.
