Additional Production Ordered For Virtual Valerie 2 As Initial Sales Exceed Expectations.

CRANSTON, RI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 11, 1995--Less than two weeks after its introduction, strong sales for the Virtual Valerie 2 adult CD-ROM have led its distributor, South Pointe Enterprises, Inc. [Nasdaq: STPN], to order additional production to meet demand. One key wholesaler says the product "may make our year."

Virtual Valerie 2, the spicy sequel to the game from notable computer animator Mike Saenz that established its character as the `Queen of Cybersex,' reached retail outlets on September 1 and the first production run has completely sold out. South Pointe which has worldwide distribution rights to the game, said Valerie sales should add $300,000 in revenue to the first quarter of fiscal 1996 and at least that much in the second quarter of the company's current fiscal year.

"New orders are appearing from distributors and retail outlets we've never done business with before," according to John M. Connors, Northeast Sales Manager for South Pointe and its Arcus Media Group subsidiary. "We are hearing from buyers who have seen Virtual Valerie 2 mentioned in the press and from those who say the word is on the street that Valerie is hot. With this initial sales response, coupled with her loyal following from fans of the original release, Virtual Valerie 2 may well set new sales records for an adult CD-ROM title."

Ed Tsunoda, Sales Manager for Mission Control, a New Jersey-based distributor of adult computer software, said: "It is already one of our best sellers in mail order, video stores, adult video stores and computer software stores, where it's been doing really well. It was a hot-seller as a pre-order before it was even released, but after the first week we are absolutely reordering. I hope it is as good as I think it is going to be, because it will potentially make our year."

John DeSautels, buyer for Chips & Bits, a software distributor based in Rochester, VT., said: "Pre-sale orders for Virtual Valerie were the highest for any adult CD-ROM product we have ever seen, and we are already getting a higher than expected rate of additional orders. If the rate keeps up, we should have an extremely strong fourth quarter and it should carry into the first quarter of next year. I am already ordering additional units for Christmas because I don't want to run out of what may be our biggest seller."

Initial reviews of Virtual Valerie 2 have been universally positive. AVN, a trade magazine for the adult products industry, called the CD-ROM `awesome' and gave it four and one half stars for quality, content and interactivity. "Arcus Media Group's acquisition of exclusive distribution rights to Valerie is the most brilliant marketing move in recent memory," AVN wrote in its September issue.

Arcus Media has an aggressive plan to release 12 interactive titles over the next 12 months as part of a program to create a balanced array of offerings to address the varied tastes of the adult market. Included in the new titles is the `Casting Couch' line, in which players can assemble their own adult movies.

These Arcus disks will contain `photorealistic' 3-D rendered worlds, top-quality custom video with the hottest adult stars, all with an immersive `virtual reality' interface consistent with today's cutting edge technologies.
