Adaro to increase coal output to 26 million tons.

The country's largest coal mining company PT Adaro Indonesia said it will boost production to 26 million tons this year from 24 million tons in 2004. A company manager Priyadi said the entire production of 24 million tons in 2004 have been sold out mostly or 60% exported. Priyadi said the company exports its coal to various countries including India, Taiwan and Spain and buyers in the country are mainly coal fired power plants such as Suralaya and Paiton power plants in Java owned by the state electricity company PLN. He said the company is still bound by contracts with buyers in 18 countries, therefore, it has no plan to expand market yet. (BI/12/01/05)
