Ad busted. (No Comment).
Britain's Independent Television Commission has banned a
Microsoft X-Box ad after 135 viewers complained about the content. The
ad shows a baby being shot through a window by force of birth. "He
ages rapidly as he travels through the air, screaming, and finally
crashes into his own grave as an old man," reports the London Guardian. The ITC didn't buy Microsoft's argument that the
ad's tagline--"Life is short. Play more"--is a positive
statement. "The man's screams throughout his life's
journey suggested a traumatic experience, which, together with the
reminder that life is short, made the final scene more shocking,"
the ITC said.
