Actor fine after collapse on stage.

Actor Todd Carty has left hospital after a health scare which saw him collapse on stage.

Carty, 44, who played Mark Fowler in EastEnders and PC Gabriel Kent in The Bill, passed out in the middle of a performance at the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, on Saturday.

It was initially feared that he had suffered a heart attack.

But an ear infection is now thought to have been the cause of his collapse.

Carty's agent, Derek Webster, said: "Todd had been suffering from an ear infection for a little while and had been on antibiotics, but they ran out. The infection just got a bit out of hand. He will be back at work tomorrow filming a new TV show."
