Active Power to provide battery-free technology to Mexican airport.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Active Power Inc (Nasdaq: ACPW) has been selected by the largest airport in Mexico, Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de Mexico, to provide its battery-free CleanSource UPS to protect runway and taxiway lighting.

The company also said that a new terminal that will begin construction this year will also be supported by Active Power's battery-free systems. Deliveries against this order started in Q4 2005 and will continue through the first half of 2006.

According to Active Power, the selection of its battery-free technology at AICM follows its successful implementation at the nearby Toluca International Airport, where the Mexican Airport Authority (Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares) chose CleanSource UPS over battery-based systems.

No financial details have been disclosed.
