Action Products January Sales Beats Estimates With a Gain of 57%.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Action Products International, Inc. (NASDAQ:APII), a leading toy designer and manufacturer of educational and positive, non-violent branded toys, today announced that the torrid pace of growth continued as the company penetrated deeper into markets and continues to open new accounts. The previous estimate was for a gain of 40% but a rush of shipments in the final days of January pushed the sales figures higher. The sales for Jan. 2005 were a new all time record $634,700 vs. $405,100 in 2004. That brings 12 month trailing sales to $9,300,000 vs. $8,200,000 by the end of Jan. 2004 up 13.5%. Preorders remain high as the company prepares for the American International Toy Fair later this month. This should cause an expected shift in sales with a very modest gain in February and an extra strong sales gain in March.

"We are introducing new brands at Toy Fair, which would impact sales in late 2005 and strongly into 2006. With Talking Stix being available in the second half of 2005, we expect to see strong sales gains later this year and 2006," said Ron Kaplan, CEO/President. "We are looking forward to sustaining improvements in profitability this year as well as sales gains. The Company's financial condition is the strongest it has ever been."
