INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Telekom Slovenije has announced that, in partnership with Masterline, it has deployed the Actelis Networks Inc. MetaLIGHT platforms to backhaul 3G cellular base stations. Actelis is a deliverer of broadband over copper solutions that provide broadband services using the existing copper infrastructure.

The company is using Actelis' MetaLIGHT platforms to provide high quality bandwidth to connect 3G cellular base stations that are reachable only by copper to deliver bandwidth to the radio network controller.

Actelis' product portfolio enables system integrators, service providers, and private network operators to use the existing copper infrastructure to provide long-reach voice, video and data services quickly and universally. Available in point-to-point or point-to-multipoint configurations the MetaLIGHT platforms deliver up to 70Mb/s of traffic to customers or locations over the existing copper plant.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
