Actel Names Jon Anderson as Chief Financial Officer.

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 7 /PRNewswire/ --

Actel Corporation (Nasdaq: ACTL) today announced the promotion of Jon Anderson, 42, to Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Formerly the corporate controller, Mr. Anderson joins Actel's executive management team and reports directly to John East, president and CEO.

"Jon has done exemplary work as our controller and is very well prepared to undertake the responsibilities of CFO," stated Mr. East. In his new role, Mr. Anderson is responsible for investor relations, all financial and accounting matters, information technology, purchasing, and facilities. He will also be involved in corporate governance and merger and acquisition activities, risk management, the development of procedures and systems necessary to facilitate enterprise success, and competitive analysis and strategic planning.

Mr. Anderson brings to his new role nearly 15 years of experience in all facets of financial management in the semiconductor industry. Prior to joining Actel in March 1998 as controller, he held a range of financial positions during 11 years with National Semiconductor. Mr. Anderson began his career in 1982 within the audit division of the CPA firm Touche Ross & Co, after earning his BS degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Washington.

Mr. Anderson replaces Hank Perret, 55, who has accepted the CFO position with a private company located in Austin, Texas. Mr. Perret has family in Austin and was employed there prior to joining Actel in early 1996.
