Acquisitive: Environmental engineer builds future.
Carter Environmental Engineers, based in Birmingham, has purchased the business of J B Thorne in Leicester and obtained the assets, goodwill and product range of Croydon-based Visco, increasing CEE's services for dust and fume filtration as well as water cooling tower systems.
Eddie Pring, managing director of CEE, said: 'These deals strengthen our position and provide new opportunities to expand the range of products and services for our customers.' CEE, founded more than 60 years ago, designs, manufactures and installs heat transfer systems and air pollution control equipment. The deals were put together with legal advice from Birmingham law firm the Wilkes Partnership. Janet Humphries, corporate partner at Wilkes, said: 'CEE is a fine example of the fact that, despite difficult market conditions, acquisitions are still being completed around the West Midlands.
'Wilkes has a long and fruitful relationship with the Carter Group, and we were delighted to advise CEE through these deals and help develop an excellent business.'
