Acne scars make life hell.

Byline: DR GARETH SMITH

Q I'VE been left with bad acne scars on my face from when I was a teenager. Make-up doesn't really cover them. What can I do?

A IF you have spots, don't squeeze them like Geri Halliwell because they will spread. Acne scars can sometimes be helped with dermabrasion or a chemical peel but these cosmetic procedures aren't done on the NHS.

Deep acne scars can be corrected by a local injection of semipermanent fillers. It is important to get someone to who has experience with scar reduction to do it.
