Achieving Goals.

Byline: Victor D. Infante

Set Your Goals' upbeat and vivacious brand of pop punk is a lot of fun. Replete with hard-core undertones and guitar licks, the real appeal is the unrestrained, devil-may-care enthusiasm on songs such as "Exit Summer" and "The Few That Remain" and especially "Certain," a song that just pops. It's easy to make comparisons to bands such as Green Day and Third Eye Blind - that would be totally fair - but the appeal of songs such as these is that they wear their influences, and their hearts, on their sleeves, and don't take themselves too seriously. In short, this band's a lot of fun. Set Your Goals performs with Cartel, Fireworks, Hit The Lights, Mixtapes and Sugar Prime at 7 p.m. Monday at The Palladium, 261 Main St., Worcester. (800) 477-6849 or $15.
