Accredited private health sector entities honoured.

Around 106 facilities including hospitals, clinical laboratories and outpatient clinics took part in the felicitation ceremony.

Dubai -- The Dubai Health Authority on Tuesday held a felicitation ceremony for all private health sector entities in the emirate that have obtained international accreditations.

Around 106 facilities including hospitals, clinical laboratories and outpatient clinics took part in the felicitation ceremony.

The ceremony was graced by senior officials from the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Dubai including Aisha Miran, assistant secretary-general, strategy management.

Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of DHA said: "Dubai has a dynamic sector and recognises more than 20 international accreditations for health care facilities and thus healthcare providers have several options to choose from in terms of seeking international accreditations."

Dr Layla Al Marzouqi, Director of Health Regulation and the Dubai Medical Tourism Project said Dubai has come a long way in terms of international accreditations since this programme began in 2007 when only one private hospital was internationally accredited. "
