Accolade Ships Redline -- an Intense Action Game That Lets Gamers Battle in Futuristic Gang Warfare; First Game To Include On-Foot and In-Car Combat At Anytime.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 19, 1999--Accolade, a leading publisher and developer of video game software, announced today that Redline, its 3D action game, begins shipping next week for personal computers.

"Redline possesses stunning graphics and mind-blowing gameplay," said Steve Ackrich, executive producer of Redline. "The game is the first of its kind to let gamers battle in-car or on-foot at anytime."

Redline is set in the year 2066, a time when the privileged live in domed cities and rival gangs battle outside in toxic wastelands for survival. As the game begins, the player takes the role of a rookie gang member attempting to join the Company gang and prove himself as he battles against the opposing gang members of the Templars, Red Sixers and the Lepers.

Players are immersed in brutal fast-action combat on foot and behind the wheel of more than 20 different vehicles equipped with a wide range of weapons, including homing missiles, chain guns, and the "EMP Generator" that ejects other drivers from their vehicles. Players can get in and out of cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles, and turrets at anytime and will need to utilize both vehicular and on-foot play in order to be victorious. The game features 12 missions and five multiplayer arenas all with massively destructible environments. As players advance through Redline, they gain experience, attributes and additional weapons, with the ultimate goal of becoming warlord of their gang, the Company.

The game's in-car and on-foot play offers an extremely unique multiplayer experience. Up to 12 players can battle via LAN and over the Internet in Frag-fests, Team Play and Capture the Flag Arenas. Redline will support GameSpy, Mplayer, and Heat.Net as well as independent servers found from the Redline server directory on Accolade's web site.

Minimum system requirements for Redline are AMD K62 or Pentium 200 with 100% DirectX(TM) 6 compatible hardware, a 3D accelerator card, 4X CD-ROM, Microsoft Windows(R) 95/98, 32 MB RAM, and 350 MB hard drive space. The game supports all major soundcards, video cards and input devices. Redline will be available for $39.95. For more information please visit the Redline web site at
