Acclaim Entertainment to Distribute Eden2 PC Game From Denon Active Media in U.S. and Europe.

GLEN COVE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 22, 1996--Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ:AKLM), a leading worldwide interactive entertainment company, today announced it is distributing Eden2, a fast-paced shooting game for Windows95 from Denon Active Media under its new AFOON label, jointly developed with Hitachi Ltd. and Denon's parent company, Nippon Columbia of Japan.

Already shipping Eden2 to United States retail outlets, Acclaim also is distributing the game in the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Spain for the holiday selling season. It was introduced in July in Japan.

The first in a series of interactive software titles in Acclaim Distribution, Inc.'s multiyear agreement with Denon Active Media, Eden2 sends players on a mission from Mars to Earth in order to reclaim their homeland from the menacing creatures who now inhabit it. Players proceed through an eight-stage expedition on a fighter aircraft throughout Africa, Eurasia, America and, finally, to Antarctica.

"Acclaim Distribution is known throughout the industry for its unmatched breadth and depth, and we at Denon believe that the intensity of the game, combined with the strength of ADI, will make Eden2 a success in the U.S. and European markets. Partnering with Acclaim in distribution gives us considerable advantage in the marketplace," said Dick Meixner, president of Denon Active Media.

"Acclaim is pleased to join forces with Denon Active Media in distributing this full-tilt action/adventure game. We look forward to our on-going relationship that will bring some of the industry's most desired titles to more players worldwide," said Jim DeRose, president and chief operating officer of Acclaim North American Operations.

ADI will follow Eden 2 with a number of AFOON products, the next of which is Popol Maya, a simulation and role-playing game, now in final production in Japan.
