Accidents ratio decreases after crackdown against underage drivers; DPO.

SWAT -- District Police Officer Swat Saleem Marwat Tuesday said that reduction in road accidents had been reported after the traffic police crackdown against the underage drivers in district.

The DPO said that no more relaxation would be granted to underage drivers and those not holding driving licenses.

District Police Officer said the juvenile drivers not only put their own lives in danger but also the lives of other road users adding that parents should keep an eye on their children to avert accidents.

He said that special directives had been already issued in this regard to deputy superintendents of police of all circles, inspectors and traffic wardens working in the field.

He said the operation was aimed at providing safety to citizens and ensuring implementation of the traffic laws.

It is pertinent to mention here that roads accident ratio had increased in Swat district due to underage and unlicensed drivers.

Police arrested many underage drivers and released them after their parents gave in writing that they will not allowed their children to drive.
