Global Banking News - 20 April 2018

According to Accenture's Banking Technology Vision 2018 report, banks will have to contend with fake data and data manipulations.

The survey showed that many banks have not invested in capabilities needed to verify and validate the accuracy of their data. Half of the bankers admitted they are not doing enough to validate and ensure data quality.

While 84 percent of bankers surveyed said they are increasingly using data for critical and automated decision making, 78 percent believe these automated systems create new risks, such as fake data, external data manipulation and inherent bias.

The survey covered 800 IT banking professionals across 25 countries.
