A strategic plan that will govern maritime and coastal development in Abu Dhabi has moved to an advanced preparation stage.

Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC) is the project manager and central coordinator for all partners involved in the drafting of Plan Maritime 2030.

At a recent update meeting the UPC said more accurate land boundaries have been identified for the project area and all of the islands are in the process of being mapped and named.

A UPC statement read: "The committee was pleased to see the plan move from the design process to an advanced preparation stage."

Plan Maritime 2030 is the fourth framework plan to be prepared by the UPC. It will join Plans Capital , Al Ain and Al Gharbia 2030 to complete the Emirate-wide framework plan to support the achievement of Vision 2030.
