Abrogating Muslim personal law part of RSS agenda: JI IOK.

Srinagar -- In occupied Kashmir, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has strongly condemned the attempts being made by Indian government aimed at promoting the agenda of extremist Hindu organization, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), to eliminate the religious identity of Indian Muslims by implementing Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in India.

According to press release issued on Tuesday, The JI spokesman IOK said that the New Delhi is aggressively working to realize the RSS agenda of converting India into a Hindu Rashtra and for that religious identity of Indian Muslims is being targeted.

'Muslims of India, like Muslims living anywhere in the world, cannot tolerate any interference in their religious affairs,' the statement said, adding 'There is no scope for any interference in laws formulated in accordance with the injunctions of the holy Quran and sacrosanct traditions of Prophet Mohammad (SAW).'

The JI said that Indian Muslims were living in a constant state of fear for being always targeted, sometimes in the name of cow protection by vigilante mobs of Sangh Parivar, sometimes in the name of beef ban and sometimes in the name of abrogation of Muslim Personal Law and implementation of Uniform Civil Code.

The Jamaat-e-Islami condemns this communal approach of Indian government which seeks to eliminate any trace of Muslim identity in India, the statement added.
