Abba best Euro entry.

ABBA hit Waterloo is the greatest Eurovision song, according to a scientific study of the corny contest.

The 1974 entry went on to be a worldwide number one and set the Swedish band on the road to becoming one of the most successful pop acts of all time.

A truly great Eurovision song needs a chorus with a difference, unexpected chord changes, a rousing finale and an eye-catching costume, the study found.

Sandie Shaw's1968 hit Puppet On A String was the highest placed British entry in the list in third place.

The 50th Eurovision Song Contest is being held tomorrow in Ukrainian capital Kiev
