Abate areas of LBOD banks to make strong and resilient: Dr. Hafeez Ahmed Siyal.

BADIN -- All arrogating and obstacles erected over the water canals and on its banks in the district Badin would be removed within short span and abate areas of the embankments of LBOD would be made strong and resilient on the immediate basis. These views were expressed by Dr. Hafeez Ahmed Siyal, Deputy Commissioner Badin on Friday at his office during chairing an important meeting to review the current condition of the LBOD and its embankments linked with district Badin. Dr. Siyal vowed to remove all obstacles erected over the canals which creating hurdles and disturbance in the usual water flow adding that police department's support would also be sought in this connection if it will be required.

He issued the directives to concerned department to take necessary measures to make strong embankment of the canals where it is needed as people can be assured to protect them from any untoward losses. He also directed to Assistant Commissioners of respective talukas that with consultation of the growers they make assure for desilting of the drainages as drainage system would work properly. While briefing the participants of the meeting, Fawad Ahmed Memon, Axin Drainage, said that during the heavy rains, contaminated water of rain was being flowed of upper districts including Shaheed Benazir, Sanghar, Mirpur Khas and Tando Mohammad Khan to LBOD and Phuleli canal which postured the losses of district Badin as happed in 2011.
